Real or artificial Xmas trees?

Which do you prefer?

We used to get a new real tree every year when the kids were small but now that there's only the two of us we have had the same silver fibre optic tree for several years now and it's great! No more cleaning up pine needles every day and no more hauling a dead tree off to the local recycling dump every January!!

Re: Real or artificial Xmas trees?

I'm fine with artificial. But we do like to have an arrangement of fresh pine just to have the Christmas scent in the house. We have gone with artificial for quite a few years now that the kids are gone and find it much easier. We just have a four foot tree that we put up on a table and when we're done with Christmas we wrap it up with a plastic sheet and store it. Makes decorating a breeze!

Artificial all the way I'm sorry. I like the smell of a real tree, but the clean up is a pain and I worry about the fire hazard too once they are a week or two old. Fake trees are nice and convenient.

Artificial trees work fine for us. Nice, easy, and simple

Re: Real or artificial Xmas trees?

Well, we just went out and bought a new artificial tree. We got a 24 inch one that was prelit. This is a perfect size for us and easy to set up and take down. We got all kinds of miniature ornaments and garland. It's so cute! It looks just like our 4 foot one only much smaller and easier to handle. Finally, we have our tree up. It took a whole 15 minutes to do!

Re: Real or artificial Xmas trees?

I have to go with the fake tree. The fire hazard of a real tree scares me to death plus they make such a mess. The good fakes look real but they are more expensive so I have a semi-good one. Looks great as long as I use tinsel to even things out.

Re: Real or artificial Xmas trees?

Artificial. No fire hazard, and better for the environment. Not to mention that we have a cathedral ceiling in our living room and use a 9 foot narrow base tree. Can you see two people lugging a real one of those in every year, setting it up, and then having to get rid of it again? In a split foyer house? I don't think so. J.P.S.
